Refunds

Refund Policy

This policy explains when booking payments may be refunded, when a late cancellation charge applies, and how recurring-series refunds are assessed.

When refunds may apply

  • If no cook accepts a booking, no payment is captured for that request.
  • If HandyCook cancels a paid booking because the requested service cannot be fulfilled, a full refund may apply.
  • Duplicate or incorrect payments may be reviewed and refunded where appropriate.

Customer cancellation timing

  • Cancelling at least 1 hour before the booking start time receives a full refund for that booking.
  • Cancelling less than 1 hour before the booking start time retains the default 1-hour charge of $25 and refunds the remaining balance, if any.
  • The same timing rule applies to in-home cooking bookings and to each booking inside a recurring schedule.

Recurring booking refunds

  • Recurring schedules are charged in full once accepted.
  • If future sessions in a recurring series are cancelled, each affected session is assessed individually based on its own start time.
  • Late-cancelled sessions inside a recurring series may retain the default 1-hour charge for that session.

Refund processing

  • Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method.
  • Bank and card processing times vary, and refunds may take several business days to appear.
  • Refund support: support@handycook.com.au.
